Our beers

At Van Dieman Brewing, our beers pay tribute to the art of modern farm-brewing, showcasing the purity and vibrance of Tasmania's northern midlands. Our ground-to-glass approach ensures every beer reflects the authentic taste of our homeland. By cultivating our ingredients — hops, cereals, and yeast — right here on our farm and drawing water from our natural springs, we craft beers that are not just beverages but stories in liquid form.

Our core range has evolved over the years to now feature Ragged Jack, a fresh, modern Pale Ale that embodies the character of our estate with 50% Estate malt included in the malt bill, and Freycinet Pilsner, a barrel-fermented, crisp lager bursting with floral notes from our own Estate hops. These beers celebrate Tasmanian agriculture and brewing expertise with an approachable and contemporary twist.

In addition to our core range, we take pride in crafting exceptional limited-release beers inspired by the rich traditions of Belgian-style lambic beers and wild ales. Embracing the art of spontaneous fermentation, we meticulously create these unique brews, allowing the wild yeast and microorganisms from our estate to weave their magic in a vessel known as a Koelschip (coolship). This intricate process brings forth beers that reflect the true essence of our terroir, offering a taste of the Tasmanian landscape in every sip. These limited editions, known as "Estate Beers," are a testament to our commitment to sustainability and our connection with the land, as we grow all the ingredients right on our farm, making them a genuine ground-to-glass experience.
